A patrol unit on Surface Ridge Zeta detected an energy flare rising through the ice like a glowing vein. The flare shot upward, breaching the surface in a silent burst of blue-white light that illuminated the frozen horizon. No sound. No shockwave. Just light — pure, focused, intentional.

Seconds later, every skyward sensor in a ten-kilometer radius went offline.

When the feeds rebooted, they showed a single frame of corrupted imagery:
a floating silhouette, humanoid, suspended above the ridge with a faint red glow burning from its chest core. No movement. No features. Just the shape — like a cyborg caught mid-scan.

But here’s the part the Syndicate can’t explain:

The silhouette wasn’t recorded by any camera.

And stamped beneath the frame was a timestamp:
07.19.2256 — the date of the first missing shipment.
