The Syndicate dispatched a recovery team into the frozen transit corridors — long tunnels carved through ancient ice where transport drones move oxygen canisters toward the launch bays. Visibility was low, blue fog thick enough to swallow sound.
Halfway through the corridor, the team found the first clue:
A shattered drone casing frozen into the ice wall… but not a single canister.
Someone took them.
Moments later, the team picked up a pulse — a repeating signal bouncing off every surface. Not Syndicate, not civilian, not military.
Unregistered. Artificial. Active.
Something is moving beneath Pluto’s crust.
Something with access to the tunnels.
Something that knew exactly when to strike.
And the signal…
It wasn’t warning them.
It was tracking them.
