Deep inside the Cyan District Transit Hub, the air hums with a low mechanical drone — the kind of noise that feels like it vibrates through your bones rather than your ears. Here, surveillance is not just everywhere… it watches back.
Unit O–7 Spectra, an investigative-class cyborg with a precision ocular array, has been tracking a pattern no one else seems able to detect: a corridor where every recorded moment loops itself. Footsteps repeat with perfect accuracy. Conversations replay. Even the flicker of a neon sign behaves exactly the same every cycle, never deviating.
This should be impossible.
Spectra pauses at the threshold, blue-lit optics widening as it scans the corridor again. There — a faint outline, a ghostly afterimage. Someone moving between the loops rather than inside them. Someone unregistered, untagged, unseen by the city’s omnipresent sensors.
