The Overpass Convergence is one of Ion Prime’s most unpredictable transit junctions—part transit hub, part heat-distribution nexus, part anomaly zone. Suspended above a grid of molten conduits, the Overpass glows with an internal pulse that beats in rhythm with the city’s furnace-line. Every few cycles, the Overpass shifts its configuration—rail paths bending, walkways angling, and heat lamps reorienting as if responding to patterns only the infrastructure itself can interpret.
By Cycle 297 the Convergence had gained a reputation among Gatewalkers as a place where spatial logic breaks down. Travelers entering from opposite ends sometimes report seeing each other approach… yet never meet. Structural shadows detach from their sources and drift across the concourse like autonomous silhouettes, and for brief moments the sky above the Overpass flickers with geometric afterimages of unseen machinery.
This project captures the moment an operative crossed through a corridor of refracted orange light—standing alone in a place designed for thousands, feeling the weight of the city converge into a single, undeniable truth: the Overpass wants to be observed, but only on its own terms.
